Swirling, throbbing in the watery womb,
untold dreams and promises warm within.
A buckled ball of being, budding to bloom
fast shut lash less eyes and peel parchment thin.
"A girl!" the verdict cut the quiet
darkness of the breathless room;
nipping his hopes and waxing her woes
as their fountain of fruition forthwith froze.
A fateful ruling was then savagely settled,
no moral twinge, no misstep beheld.
The eager heart stopped forever,
the wiggling limbs would now move never,
A million dreams unborn dead
as yet another girl's breath was bled
in this land of Sita, Teresa and
the Goddess of a thousand head.
